Mary Beth Powers is a highly skilled family law attorney with over 26 years of experience. She joined the firm as a partner in July, 2005, and has practiced family law exclusively, gaining extensive experience in multifaceted cases including divorce, custody, visitation, domestic violence, paternity, DCFS, child abduction cases governed by the Hague Convention and adoption.
Mary Beth is a skilled mediator, and has been trained in and practices collaborative law, seeking to resolve family disputes amicably, with litigation as a last, though sometimes unavoidable resort She is held in high esteem throughout the Chicago legal community and has often been recognized for her unparalleled honesty and integrity.
Mary Beth has lectured at various venues on issues involving family law, and as a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, she has participated in workshops for professionals in Chicago, San Diego and London. She has appeared on WBBM-TV in an interview with journalist Mike Flannery, and been heard on WLS Radio regarding issues of child support, visitation and child custody.
Mary Beth earned her Bachelor’s degree and law degree from Loyola University, receiving her Jurist Doctor in 1982.
