Aileen joined the firm in 2007. After graduating from Ohio Northern University, summa cum laude, with a B.S.B.A. in International Business & Economics and a double major in Spanish (2004), Aileen received a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law (2007). While at DePaul, Aileen claimed a spot on the Dean’s List, participated in the Family Law Society and was the Business Manager of the Women’s Law Caucus. During her second year at DePaul, Aileen was nominated by one of her professors to work for a large corporate law firm on a pressing First Amendment case. Her research and memoranda served as the framework for the drafting an Amicus Curiae Brief submitted to the United States Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit.
While in law school, Aileen actively pursued opportunities in family law, beginning her legal career as a law clerk at the Office of the Cook County Public Guardian. As a clerk in the Juvenile Division, she assisted attorneys in their bifurcated roles as guardian ad litem and legal counsel for abused and neglected children. Thereafter, she began clerking at Kamerlink, Stark, McCormack & Powers, LLC, and has been with the firm ever since. Through her professional and legal experience at both KSMP and the Office of the Public Guardian, Aileen developed a profound compassion and dedication to her clients that remains steadfast in her career today.
Aileen’s devotion to the area of domestic relations has been further manifested in her long-term commitment to serve as a volunteer in her community. In 2003, she co-organized a 5K walk, Walking for Women, in Ada, Ohio, to help raise funds for a local battered women’s shelter. Upon moving to Chicago, Aileen became a member of the Young Professionals Group of Between Friends, a Chicago-based organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence.
Aileen is a member of the Chicago, Illinois and American Bar Associations.
