JAMI BUZINSKI

Jami joined the firm as an associate in 2008.
Jami was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and holds a B.A. in Political Science with honors and a minor in Gendered Women’s Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Jami received her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School (2008). While a student at The John Marshall Law School, Jami was on the honor roll and received the 2006-2007 Frank Lambrushi Memorial Scholarship from the Justinians’ Society.

While in college, Jami worked as a facilitator for a campus organization (C.A.R.E.) providing advocacy and support for students impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence, harassment, and stalking.

Jami further developed her passion for legal advocacy as a law clerk in the Cook County Public Defender’s office, where she interned for two summers. While at the Public Defender’s office, Jami researched complex state and family law issues, and observed seasoned attorneys on the Office’s murder task force and juvenile delinquency divisions. Also, while in law school, Jami clerked for the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and the Office of the Cook County State’s Attorney, Child Welfare Division.

Based on her experience with various public agencies, Jami enjoys a unique perspective on family law, having experienced both private and public sector approaches to family law issues. Jami joined Kamerlink, Stark, McCormack & Powers, LLC as a law clerk during her last year of law school. Jami’s wide-ranging family law experiences enable her to be an effective advocate and resource for her clients.

Jami is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and Justinians’ Society.
